Keeping traces and influences of Polish culture in Germany alive, and ensuring places of remembrance are placed in historical context – this is the role of the Porta Polonica. ]init[ brought the portal to life with the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (LWL) and with the support of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM). After the successful launch of the Drupal 7-based platform, the project team began immediately on planned expansions, which included a digital encyclopedia and an online exhibition.

Technology

”’Porta Polonica‘ is a groundbreaking project in terms of content, technology, and design, and it involved more staff than just the team in Cologne. For example, our Berlin colleagues in the high-security data center manage the platform hosting.”
