Corporate Social Responsibility Our commitment to a society worth living in

]init[ AG takes responsibility for its actions. We want digitalization to benefit everyone and make everyday life easier for people and organizations. We contribute to this through our digital solutions. The following measures and principles illustrate how we integrate environmental and social responsibility into our work.

A woman rides her bicycle through the city.
A young woman sits on a porch with a laptop and headphones. In the background, a teenager tends green plants.
A woman in a business outfit looks at a tablet. Behind is a wall of green bamboo.
A family with two small children walks across a wildflower meadow.

Environment

Digitization can streamline processes, reduce paper consumption, and enable location-independent collaboration. At the same time, it consumes energy and generates greenhouse gas emissions. That is why we consider the environmental impact of digital solutions and the resources required for their development and operation.

To systematically assess the environmental impact of our operations and plan improvements, we have implemented an environmental management system. Our Berlin locations and our data center in Berlin are listed in the EMAS registry. A central component of our environmental management is the Environmental Program. In it, we define measures aimed at improving our environmental performance. You can learn more about the scope, our environmental data, and the planned measures in our Environmental Statement.

Measures in Daily Business and Data Center Operations

Renewable Energies

At our German locations, we cover over 90% of our electricity consumption with renewable energy (as of the end of 2025).

Energy Consumption of Data Centers

We continuously monitor the energy consumption of our data centers. Using scalable architectures and technology stacks, we tailor the systems to actual demand. In this way, we aim to avoid unnecessary energy consumption.

Mobility

]init[ AG has a policy prohibiting business flights within Germany. For train travel, we use the bahn.business program. We encourage remote work to reduce commutes to the office. Employees receive a subsidy toward the Deutschlandticket and can lease a Jobrad bicycle.

Society

We develop digital solutions for tasks that are socially relevant. Through clear and user-friendly offerings, we aim to make it easier for people to access information and services.

The projects we undertake and how we implement them have an impact on people, institutions, and society. That is why we base our decisions on binding guidelines and our Code of Conduct. These establish the principles for our projects and our collaboration. They are grounded in our liberal-democratic values, which we have set forth in our binding Values Compass.

Equal Opportunity and Diversity

Equal opportunity and diversity are important to us. We also want our digital solutions to contribute to these goals. We do not take on projects that infringe upon the rights of specific groups of people or exclude individuals. In our corporate culture, we do not tolerate discrimination based on origin, gender, age, or other protected characteristics.

Through our DEI&B policy, we have committed to concrete measures to promote diversity and equal opportunity within our corporate group and to strengthen inclusion and a sense of belonging. We have been a signatory to the Diversity Charter since 2026.

Among other things, employees can participate in training sessions on unconscious bias. We provide opportunities for dialogue and have established reporting channels for discrimination. Part-time leadership roles support equal opportunity. Flexible work hours and our Remote Work Policy help employees balance family and career.

We aim to increase the proportion of women in leadership positions at ]init[ AG from 38% in 2025 to over 40% in 2029.

Human Dignity and Fairness

We are guided by the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and take responsibility within our supply chain. The following applies to our business relationships: We are committed to excluding from our business dealings any companies or organizations that violate human rights, workers’ rights, the right to freedom of association, or occupational safety requirements.

Governance

Acting responsibly is an integral part of our corporate governance. Our Code of Conduct establishes a binding framework for ethical behavior in our day-to-day work and in our business relationships. Potential violations and concerns can be reported through our whistleblower system.

Data protection and information security are embedded in our work processes. Our goal is to ensure the careful handling of data belonging to our customers, partner organizations, and employees, as well as the security of our digital solutions.

Join us in shaping the digital society of tomorrow!
