]init[ takes over project management for the NOOTS pilot project

We assisted the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior with the first successful integration of a service into the National Once-Only Technical System (NOOTS), thereby demonstrating that Once-Only works and is ready for future use in live operations.

When documentation can be retrieved automatically, administrative processes become faster and more efficient. Baden-Württemberg has taken an important step in this direction: As of now, when residents apply for a resident parking permit through the online service “Apply for a Resident Parking Permit,” they can opt to have their data automatically retrieved from the Federal Motor Transport Authority’s Central Vehicle Register.

This offers citizens significant time savings thanks to streamlined processes. At the same time, the successful integration with NOOTS is the first of its kind and demonstrates the system’s functionality. This sets a reusable milestone for registry modernization and the “once-only” principle across the entire state.

Our collaboration with ]init[ was professional and results-oriented, and, like the work of the other project participants, was essential to the project’s success.

Successful support thanks to NOOTS' expertise

]init[ supported the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior throughout the entire project. A five-member team of experts contributed their extensive experience in project planning, monitoring, and management, as well as in the technical and operational aspects of registry modernization. Together, we are thus laying the groundwork for connecting additional services to NOOTS and for a successful nationwide rollout in the near future.

Joint pilot project as a preliminary step

We had previously assisted the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior with the project management of a NOOTS pilot project. The use case involved processing parental leave benefit applications. The goal was to automatically make the necessary income data available as supporting documentation. In this early phase, the primary focus was on clarifying the framework conditions, processes, and interfaces so that the go-live could be realistically planned.

Europe-wide digital identity: ]init[ supports the EUDI Wallet initiative

]init[ has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the introduction of the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI-Wallet). Through this initiative, we are promoting wallet technologies in our projects and supporting the launch of a Europe-wide digital identity in 2027.

Networking actors and staging successes

Behind the implementation of the Online Access Act (OZG) are many actors who need to exchange information and network. The Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) counts on our understanding of clear content so that the sometimes very complex information on digitalization projects is available to everyone.
