Environmental Management Milestone: ]init[ Receives EMAS Certification

We are committed to social progress. In addition to social considerations, this includes, in particular, environmental measures. And we’ve been successful: Our Berlin locations have received EMAS certification – the world’s most rigorous environmental management system.

Certified Ambition

Through our business activities – the digitization and modernization of public administration and the healthcare sector – we aim not only to make a social contribution but also to reduce environmental impact and consistently help protect the planet. In doing so, we are mindful of our role as a corporate pioneer – both toward our clients, who actively implement GreenIT and sustainable software development with us, and toward our employees and partners.

Our ambitious measures are being recognized: Since spring 2024, our Berlin locations have been officially EMAS-certified and thus bear the seal of the world’s most demanding environmental management system, which goes far beyond the requirements of common international standards. Henrik Vagt, Managing Director of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Berlin), presented the certificate to our CEO Harald Felling at an official ceremony. We regularly publish key figures and measures in our environmental statement (German language).

The EMAS certificate recognizes not only us as a company, but also all the employees who have passionately contributed to this success. And it will now take our implementation strategy to the next level.

Effective Environmental Management

The EMAS management system provides us with a valuable tool for assessing and understanding the environmental impact of our activities and for developing appropriate measures. We can efficiently and transparently reduce harmful effects and increase our positive contribution to environmental protection and a sustainable circular economy – by gaining a deeper understanding of the role digital solutions play in the fight against climate change.

We are proud to formalize our many existing measures within the framework of the environmental management system and take them to the next level. Environmental sustainability is an ongoing process. That is why, in every fiscal year, we adopt an environmental program with measures that help us become even better. In doing so, we are inspired by the many suggestions and initiatives from our employees.

Join us in shaping the digital society of tomorrow!
