Digitalization, Infrastructure & Environment ]init[ is accelerating the digitization of planning and permitting processes

A special fund of 500 billion euros for infrastructure and climate neutrality is available to fuel an investment drive in the country’s future. At the same time, the investment backlog in local municipalities is growing to over 215 billion euros. One reason for this is the protracted planning approval and permitting processes.

On paper, a lot is happening: the Germany Pact for Accelerating Planning, the federal and state modernization agenda, and the Future Infrastructure Act. In practice, however, these initiatives face a reality that slows down procedures: 570,000 unfilled positions in the public sector and processes whose complexity makes them unlikely to speed up unless they are consistently supported by digital tools. The solution lies in comprehensive digitalization that translates resources and measures into action.

] init[ is the most implementation-focused provider in the infrastructure and environment sector, with operational end-to-end platforms for planning and permitting procedures at the federal and state levels. The application and participation portal for transportation and offshore projects of the Federal Ministry of Transport is a project that embodies the new “German pace” in the digitization of planning and permitting processes.

• Strategy & Vision: We analyze, prioritize, and optimize procedures and processes. We evaluate use cases – including AI-supported ones – for their potential to accelerate processes.
• AI-powered end-to-end administrative platforms & process automation: We implement end-to-end digital platforms that map and automate procedures. AI-supported functions reduce the administrative burden, accelerate procedures, and increase controllability.
• Standards, Open Source & Integration: We develop interfaces and integrate components into existing platforms. In doing so, we rely on interoperability standards such as XBau and XPlanung. Our focus is on rolling out reusable solutions and components – preferably as open source.
• Geodata Applications, Interactive Maps, and Analyses: We develop geodata applications and interactive maps that make spatial relationships understandable and usable. This creates transparency, comparability, and a basis for decision-making in planning, permitting, and management.
• Digital engagement, portals & communication: We design engagement and information platforms that promote transparency, acceptance, and legal certainty. To this end, we combine portal development with communication and transformation consulting.
• Operation & further development: We securely operate solutions in the cloud and continuously develop them further. We consistently implement IT security and data protection by design. Support and clear service levels ensure reliable operation.
