Fully agile: A new intranet for Europe's largest home appliance manufacturer.

For over 61,000 employees, BSH Hausgeräte is modernizing the most important internal communication channel. The platform we designed bundles all internal information and employee services in a single interface, enabling new forms of digital collaboration in innovation fields, and inspiring them to share local and global stories with colleagues worldwide.

The Challenge

To bring together what was previously hidden in various intranets and departments, in one common platform. A mammoth task at 78 locations and 42 factories, with which a new self-image of digital corporate culture within the BSH Group will grow by the end of 2020.

Our Task

Digital strategists and UX consultants, together with BSH's Content & Channel team, prepared for the relaunch of the intranet - strategically and conceptually. As co-product owner, we coordinated the agile implementation with the content collaboration software Confluence. And we supported the worldwide roll-out of the intranet as well as change management processes.

Project Insights

27 expert interviews, 100 individual group interviews and 16 international workshops. With this input we were able to develop a UX design that comprehensively covers the requirements of the company management and the workforce.

Content and topics that fit the work reality - thanks to personalized news streams. Newly integrated services with fast access paths in a fully covered information architecture.

Intelligent tagging automatically links content to topic complexes. Social collaboration features promote collaboration on content, cross-disciplinary exchange and networking between colleagues.

By the end of 2020, we will support the integration of additional location-based services. In enabling trainings and FAQ sessions, we give editors and users security in the first steps on the new intranet.
