BMI Procurement Office
Consulting IT Standardization & Open Source

As the general contractor of a consulting consortium, we support federal authorities in projects that make IT processes more economical and future-proof.

As of today, federal authorities and subordinate federal institutions can call upon support from business experts for IT standardization and open source software projects and initiatives, under the proven three partner model.

Additional Framework Contract

A consortium led by ]init[, supported by its subcontracting partners 4Soft GmbHakquinet AG, and DFKI GmbH, was awarded a framework contract for these services by Procurement Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior in December 2014.

The consortium will provide support for authorities and institutions in the selection, usage, and development of standards, formats, methods, and processes. The contract also encompasses consultancy on open source software (OSS), including the design of solutions based on OSS.

“Authorities will be able to rely on the combined know-how of a strong consortium, the like of which has not been seen before. The consortium is looking forward to providing support in the selection of appropriate standards, and the development of standards for data exchange. In particular, the contract will benefit all projects initiated under the Digital Agenda, by helping to design cost-effective and future-proof IT processes.”
