2014 will see faster, leaner process handling in the German civil registration system across public administration services. To this end, experts from the federal government, the states and the municipalities are developing the technical standard XPersonenstand in the priority DOL project ”Civil Status“. This project will start up a new phase of data exchange between the civil registry offices and, in a subsequent step, with external authorities. Continuous electronic processes will replace the hitherto paper-based documents on the birth, marriage and death of a person. On behalf of the city of Dortmund (Dortmunder Systemhaus), ]init[ is developing a test suite for XPersonenstand, with which manufacturers and civil registry offices can ensure the standard compliance of their processes and IT procedures.
