From now on a central contact point for film fans from all over Europe is available on the web: The European Film Gateway (EFG). More than 400,000 digitized media objects - as for example pictures, texts, and movies from selected collections of movie archives and film libraries from more than 15 European countries -  have been available since the unique platform has gone online in the end of June 2011.

The multilingual portal offers the opportunity to explore and discover a constantly growing number of digital media objects. The EFG-project was supported by the European Commission within the initiative “i2010” in the EU programme eContentplus .It is linked to Europeana, a European digital culture portal. ]init[ developed the portal on behalf of the Deutsches Filminstitut – DIF e. V.
