DIN, the German Institute for Standardization, provides a new online service which makes it possible to submit new standards very comfortably via internet. As an alternative to personal or telephone contact, ]init[ developed the “Online Application of Standards” portal. This gives producers; consumers; and trade, scientific and public authorities a highly structured means to submit their ideas online.

After a brief registration interested parties can draft new standards or suggest amendments of existing standards. Subsequently, the institute’s expert team will check if a new standard or an adjustment is required before it will be revised by standardization committees.
