Simplified exchange of records
The cooperation committee of the automated data processing (German abbr. KoopA ADV) has released the new version of the XML standard XDOMEA. XDOMEA 2.0 simplifies the exchange of electronic data with the administration and allows authorities a smooth data exchange between the different workflow management systems, document management systems, archive systems and even specialized procedures. For this purpose, the existing systems of the individual authorities need to be changed only with regard to one XML interface.
XDOMEA 2.0 is the update of the present XDOMEA standard 1.0. Significant changes of XDOMEA 2.0 refer to the transmission of business routine information, the transfer of authority documents to the archive and the integration of electronically signed documents. Methodic changes aim at a transfer to an object-oriented and message-based data structure and the reuse of the public XML key components. The open standard guarantees a broad independence of individual products allowing an efficient implementation of the project. The concentration on a consistent standard makes significant cost savings possible in the future and facilitates the development of new e-government applications in this area.
