The Bertelsmann Foundation has a new portal for its employees. The modernized design of the intranet offers a large number of new services: it facilitates a personalized and user-defined access to information, integrates employees’ databases, and provides an optimized search function. The maintenance results centrally and automated. That way the new system significantly reduces expenditures of time and eases internal communication channels.
The employees of the Bertelsmann Foundation access the intranet through an automated login-authentication and a single sign-on function (SSO). Everybody can create its individual homepage with different modules, information, and services like e.g. calendar of events, menus, news, programs or RSS feeds. The mobile service facilitates a comfortable en route retrieval of news. And employees on parental leave can keep themselves up to date with the help extranet.
The new intranet is internationally accessible and provides all information regarding the day-to-day work at the foundation.
