DIN opens its draft standard portal for experts

The German Institute for Standardization (German abbr. DIN) is the competent standards organization for Germany representing German Interests in the European and international standardization. 28,000 experts from industry, science, state and society integrate their knowledge into the contents of the norms and standards.

Until now the sharing has generally taken place via mailings in paper form. With its new draft standard portal the Institute reaches a further possibility of an active integration of the interested groups.

On the DIN websites the current draft standards are retrievable and everybody can submit its observations. The access is free and shall facilitate also small and medium-sized companies the collaboration. On submitting comments and amendments, the users can interactively and directly take part in the development of new standards. Both, experts and DIN additionally benefit from the comments linked to the respective sections of the draft standard.
