The internet portal KBSt provides in compact form all relevant information, documents and details about the IT application in the Federal administration, and by ]init[ co-developed standards and architectures for e-Government applications (SAGA).

Already on the first design and implementation of the portal in 2001, ]init[ focused the practical and interactive use for the sites’ visitors. Forums of experts and specialists on the internet portal provide an intelligent solution for a further development and processing of documents in real time. LogIn-areas for different user groups enable a more effective and organizationally more efficient project work.

By the end of 2005, ]init[ united the KBSt website with the knowledge management system of the E-Government Initiative BundOnline (Federal Online) and migrated the newly created range of services in cooperation with other IT service providers on GSB 2.0. The Federal Office for Information Technology (German abbr. BIT) supervised the project technically and editorially from 2007 to the integration of the portal into the new internet presence of the IT-Commission of the Federal Government in 2008.
