Internet portal of the Federal Government
The Press and Information Office of the German Federal Government (German abbr. BPA) sets new standards in the political online communication with the Government portal www.bundesregierung.de. Visitors of the Federal Government’s website can expect besides more than 40,000 texts and images many multimedia contents and interactive elements like chats, forums, and voting.
In order to meet the complex requirements ]init[ developed a user-friendly navigation structure that allows a quick access to all political topics of the Federal Government: a high-performance full-text search completes the Government Portal additionally. It facilitates browsing not only the website bundesregierung.de, but on request also all websites of the Federal Ministries.
The varied background information is thematically and also formally (alphabetically) structured as well as the press releases of all departments that are integrated in the range of services. Big political campaigns are presented through special pages with own design. Monthly released e-magazines report Government policy key aspects or address especially the young public like the magazine "schekker" (meaning the “checker”). And www.bundesregierung.de provides three own RSS topic channels.
The content development is implemented with the Content Management System Government Site Builder, many marginal systems, and additional applications developed by ]init[. These content sources are bundled in a web-based editorial environment tailored to the needs of the BPA employees.
