On the 12th of October of 2009 the German Institute for Standardization (German abbr. DIN) released in the presence of the Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, and the deputy Chinese Prime Minister, Xi Jinping, the German-Chinese Standards Information Portal.

From now on the portal offers information regarding the respectively valid standards in both countries. Companies can retrieve with the help of a high-performance quick and easy search the necessary standards required for an optimal market presence.

With a German and Chinese version as well as an English translation, the consolidated standards information portal introduces a new quality in the cooperation between the DIN and the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China (SAC). The common aim of the organizations is to make information available regarding norms in both countries and to consequently reduce trade barriers. Thus, in the background of the website, more than 30,000 standards meta-data are exchanged every month.
