The internet has become the dominant medium of political communication. www.bmwi.de successfully informs directly its numerous user groups consisting of citizens, small and medium-sized enterprises and industry associations about current economical and technological-political topics. There, not only actuality and quality of contents is important. The offer also put emphasis on a wide service range and a modern and accessible presentation, user-customized information, audio-visual media elements and the dialogue with users in forums.

Campaign Communication: 20 topic websites based on CoreMedia CMS, editorial department with 500 editors

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (German abbr. BMWi) communicates political topics and lighthouse projects via campaign websites. These visual independent but technically with the main portal connected topic websites like www.kultur-kreativ-wirtschaft.de, www.energie-verstehen.de, or www.dienstleisten-leicht-gemacht.de deepen the contents specifically for the target groups and offer a variety of online services. The maintenance of topic websites is easy: it still operates via the central CMS of the BMWi. Therefore editors are able to use texts several times and work within the familiar system. The appearance of the satellite is geared to the target group and designed by specifically developed templates in CoreMedia CMS.

Precise search in more than 60.000 documents with integrated Google Search Appliance

The innovative technology Google Search Appliance facilitates the search in more than 60000 documents of www.bmwi.de plus numerous topic websites. This path- breaking search appliance pictures precise results, which can be defined easily, within a split of the time which had been necessary before. Apart from the complete configuration of the appliance, ]init[ also developed an interface to Government Site Builder, the CMS of the German Federation, to ensure that the search index is actualized meticulously.
