The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (German abbr. BMU) gave its acceptance for the realisation of video posts to the partners ]init[ and infotainweb in July 2010. In the next two years the companies will jointly produce audiovisual formats on current events and topics regarding environmental policy. The strengths of this cooperation lie on the one hand in the expertise of ]init[ in the public sector and on the other hand in infotainweb's Germany-wide network of video producers. The best possible realization of the project is therefore ensured.
Particularly in internet communication, appealing to the target group through multimedia is playing an increasing role for authorities. Online videos are of decisive importance in conveying policy to citizens, as they make sometimes complex content more accessible and inspire people into political participation by directly addressing them. Therefore in the future the BMU will focus on video posts, live streams, ministerial statements, interactive interviews and reports in order to further stimulate the environmental policy debate among the population.
The high demands on the BMU video productions will be fulfilled by a mixture of the core competencies of both companies: ]init[ has many years of experience in implementing projects for the public sector and has sound know-how in regard to video production. Many other higher federal authorities, such as the Federal Ministry for Families (BMFSFJ), the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMVBS) or the Federal Ministry of Economy(BMWI) have already relied upon the knowledge offered by the Berlin-based full-service provider. Infotainweb has access to a nationwide network of journalists and video producers and thereby ensures production resources across the entire Federal Republic. In addition, the Munich-based company has specific knowledge in production for customers with a background of economics and politics. With this combination, both of the leading providers of video productions have been able to convince a further ministry.
