The Federal Office for Information Technology (German abbr. BIT) in the German Federal Office for Administrative Affairs (German abbr. BVA) has started the internet library XRepository. From now on, e-government projects of the German administration can publish and exchange all their data models, XML schemes, and documentations at a central place. XRepository makes a valuable contribution to the success of Germany Online Project “Standardization”.

The XRepository helps authorities as an exchange and information platform on the development of data exchange formats to avoid double work, to reduce costs and to improve the interoperability of future e-government applications. The XRepository offers different detail levels to file the contents: the data interfaces can be displayed by overall models, XML schemes, code lists, format mapping or single project components. The repository is operated and maintained by the Federal Office for Information Technology (BIT) in the German Federal Office for Administrative Affairs (BVA).
