Continuous media workflow in administrative processes

Release of new version of OSCI-XMeld standards

In 2002, on behalf of the Federal Government and the States the OSCI Central Office has initiated the project “XMeld” (German acronym for XML and registry) for the standardization of continuous, electronically supported and seamless administrative processes in registration. The standard is applied since 2007 nationwide. The OSCI Central Office has now released a new, expanded version of the standards.

The open XML based standard “XMeld” defines the processes and messages for the data exchange of about 6,000 registry offices in Germany with each other and Federal Authorities like the Federal Tax Office or the Federal Agency for Employment. This enables a free of media-discontinuity online cooperation between these partners that reduces the costs, increases the efficiency and data quality, and advances the service quality for the citizens.
