]init[  designed and implemented with the DAAD webmail service a web-based communication platform for scholarship holders and former stipendiaries (Alumni) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The multilingual platform enables the stipendiaries to set up a personal profile with a free individual e-mail address (@daad.de) in order to exchange information through the platform with other stipendiaries, to maintain social contacts, and to establish new ties setting a career-promoting social network that way.

At the same time, the DAAD platform facilitates to get in touch with registered stipendiaries in a cost-efficient, quick and interactive way and to process bureaucratic processes digitally. The application supports the maintenance of the individual user profiles, user search, and mailing lists. The roles and rights of the system are administrated in different user groups.

The platform is laid out for up to 100,000 scholarship holders.
