About 50 executives from Berlin ICT companies met the State Secretary of the Senate Department for the Economy, Technology, and Research, Nicolas Zimmer, at the Berlin Capital Club last Friday. They accepted the invitation of the ICT Inter-Trade Organization SIBB e.V. and the , Dirk Stocksmeier, for an exchange on current topics of Berlin as an ICT location.
In his opening speech, Dirk Stocksmeier welcomed the willingness of Berlin politicians to implement the ICT-political aims of the coalition agreement. This was proven by the fact that Nicolas Zimmer actively contributed to the discussion about the framework conditions under which Berlin can develop as Europe’s “Silicon Valley”, as well as getting an overview of the current ICT industry.
The highly constructive exchange focused on the framework conditions for Berlin as a prospering ICT location. The ICT entrepreneurs asked Nicolas Zimmer how Berlin can boost sustainable entrepreneurship, and how the senate can financially support small enterprises with innovative ideas and solutions. Moreover, the participants discussed strengthening the innovative capacity of companies through closer collaboration between industry and science, as well as the creation of advanced training courses for IT specialists.
At the end of the event, all participants agreed that this extremely positive mutual dialog should be continued regularly.
