Who wanted to know up to now why you find small pieces of banana on yoghurt packages although you don’t find them inside, or who doubted if there was effectively as much pork meat in the German “Leberkäse” as denoted, had to ask for information and to complain at his responsible consumer organization.

Thanks to the flagship project www.lebensmittelklarheit.de consumers don’t have to make this effort any more. The online campaign initiated by the Federal Association of Consumer Organizations (vzbv) received a lot of media attention and informs consumers about the dos and don’ts of food labeling and provides answers to urgent consumers’ requests in forums and chats. Citizens, who feel cheated by the presentation and labeling of a product, can now report this directly online and track the handling of the complaint transparently. The estimation of the consumer association, the statement of the producer, and the change caused by the complaint will be published in the consumer portal.

]init[ created the content and navigation concept as well as the information and interaction design for the campaign with which the requirements of vzbv concerning target group addressing and target group activation are fully met. The subsequent technical realization and the hosting are carried out by other IT service providers.
