The “Semantic Interoperability Centre Europe”, SEMIC.EU has started a series of new community applications on its internet platform www.semic.eu. The expansion of the web portal constitutes a further step in the networking of European e-government projects.

From now on, registered users can create on SEMIC.EU personalized public profiles and can get in touch with other users. The new interactive guideline “Asset Development Assistant” supports the development of data models with the help of a checklist. Through this checklist the users can request professional consulting directly regarding specific interoperability questions.

SEMIC.EU is part of the IDABC program Interoperable Delivery of European E-Government Services to public administrations, businesses and citizens, and the European Commission. The main purpose of the internet platform is the exchange of administration-specific data models for e-government across borders and domains. As an international network it clears the way for a synchronized data exchange in the European administration creating the requirement for a semantic interoperability.
