• New Homepage: Now www.wegweiser-kommune.de welcomes its visitors with an inviting image section and striking direction sign. Users can now reach interesting information much faster and easier via the new direct access to the data pool, a slide show for interactive products and the new topic navigator.
• Finance and Education Reports: Finance and education data available in “Wegweiser Kommune“ can now be composed into individual reports for every local authority and downloaded as PDF. With the new offer the Bertelsmann Foundation provides an additional information base for strategic planning of local decision makers. A graphic generator and a map server provide the graphic design of the data. While reports are being generated they transform complicated data interrelations into understandable and significant diagrams and maps.
• Current Data: The Bertelsmann Foundation has calculated and integrated data for all topics of the directory for the period 2009. Therefore the portal offers more than 130 indicators on seven communal spheres of activity and 100 indicators on demographic forecast for 2,928 cities and communes as well as 301 administrative districts from 2003 until 2009.
